Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy.Bradley 3 - 09.04.2016 - WATCH ON SERVER 2
Manny Pacquiao defeated Timothy Bradley by unanimous decision Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the vacant WBO international welterweight title. The win was Pacquiao’s second against Bradley in the last four years, and the champ claims it was the final one of his career.
It was a close fight for the first five rounds, but Pacquiao took over and dominated the second half of the bout. The turning point came in the seventh round when Bradley hit the canvas following a right hook to the chin. Bradley would later claim that he simply lost his balance, but Pacquaio knocked Bradley down again in the ninth round with a strong left hook. With two knockdowns, Pacquiao was given the decision, 116-110, on all three judges’ scorecards.
Bradley fought well, landing 87 of his 218 attempted power shots. But it wasn’t good enough to defeat one of the best boxers in history, who landed 92 of 201 power punches. Pacquiao ended the fight with 122 total punches landed to Bradley’s 99.
Pacquiao improves his record to 58-6-2. Bradley falls to 33-2-1, and his only two defeats have come at the hands of Pacquiao.
Pacquiao has now officially gotten the better of Bradley in their head-to-head series. Since Bradley was given a controversial split decision victory in 2012, Pacquiao has won two fights against Bradley by unanimous decision.
In the post-fight interview, Pacquiao confirmed that he doesn’t plan to fight again in the future. Bradley was unsure about his future plans.
Tony Weeks was the referee. The judges were Steve Weisfeld of New York, Dave Moretti of Las Vegas and Burt Clements of Reno. None of them judged the first two fights.
