"Ideally for a match is when everyone advantages. I think this is one of those awesome situations where the same match profited both folks colossally. I think it inhabited see Randy in an unexpected way. There was a sudden admiration since he had quite recently experienced years of learning in one night. He endured incredibly, as did I.
"It was imperative for me as far as making up for myself for what I believed was an exceptionally frustrating appearance at WrestleMania XX. I got a little overpowered seeing the size of the event, being in the Garden, having The Rock as my label group accomplice and a legend like Ric Flair as my adversary. I just, for reasons unknown, couldn't feel the minute that night.
"The greatest test for me was to take the things in my mind that appear to be so lively and genuine and get them going in the ring. I couldn't do that at WrestleMania, so I drew nearer Backlash with Randy in a totally diverse way. This was the greatest match in my vocation and presumably the last time that my heart was totally in being in the ring. I forgot it there that night.
"I adore the match. The way that it's my undisputed top choice and Randy's undisputed top choice, given all the considerable matches he's been through, is quite telling. It was wild and it was compelling. There are matches I think back on and think, 'Possibly I shouldn't have gone to that great. Possibly that wasn't the best thing to do.' But I've never scrutinized the wild way of that match, since it was precisely what we both required." — MICK FOLEY, AS TOLD TO ZACH LINDER
